Where did the church get its start? Why did it start? What is the soul of the church? We will look at its defining characteristics and ask ourselves if we remain true to its mission today. This week will be the last stop in our series of Jesus on the Subway. We are half way through the book of John and are going to take the fall to highlight some specific aspects of being a Christ follower. Stay tuned in several months for the continuation of our journey through the Gospel of John. Our appropriate stopping point is the reality of Jesus yesterday, today, and forever. The Great I AM.

This past week in our Gatherings we looked at the question, "What defines you?" This Sunday we are going ask the question "What defines us?" When someone thinks of The Gallery Church, what will they think of? In John 8:12-30 we see that many people were trying to put Jesus into a corner by getting Him to prove Himself. Again, as He always does, He had an amazing answer for their inquiry. Join us this week as we continue Jesus on the Subway with "What defines us?"

What defines you? Is it your greatest achievement or your worst moment of failure? What are those things that keep you up at night? What do you hope no one finds out about? These questions can plague our conscience or stress our minds. Enter grace. Jesus reveals how in a moment grace can heal the broken and break the proud. Come and hear His transforming words.

Every day of our lives we are faced with the decisions that will ultimately bring us temporary pleasure or long lasting satisfaction. Join us this week as we look at the things in life that bring eternal satisfaction.

Jesus stirred up quite a bit of enthusiasm and controversy during His three year public ministry. At some moments He was beloved for His phenomenal miracles and at others He was nearly abandoned because of the message He spoke. When we draw near to the real Jesus we must confront the cost of following such a radical man. The cost is great but the reward is infinite.

In this series we are looking at Jesus as the essential part of our everyday life. If we could have a one on one conversation with Jesus during our daily commute, what types of questions would we ask? Just as food is a favorite conversation piece for us, in Scripture, Jesus also speaks of food in order to make a point. Join us this week as we look at how Jesus is the source of life. You'll be glad you did!

This week we will look at the significance of a person being baptized. We will look at the important questions that surround this subject. Things such as "who should be baptized" or "when should I get baptized?" We will look at God's purpose and design behind this ancient practice of the church. It's amazing how fast circumstances can change in a matter of seconds; from the calm sea to the raging storm. Though storms are inevitable, your perception of them can make all the difference. Find out how Jesus and His message can transform your view of the storms around you and make you a Sacred Activist for life. Making dinner for over 5,000 people is no small task especially when you start from scratch. Seeing justice, healing, transformation and truth come to New York City is also no small task. Yet, when we come with all we have to Jesus we will see amazing results both personally and in our city. He alone can make the simple and scarce to flourish and abound both in our hearts and in our world. The question is do we believe?

Aaron updates the regular attendees on where we are and where we hope to go as a church.  In this podcast, you can hear the progress that we have made together as a church and ways you can continue to be involved.

One of the biggest myths in the Christian faith is, "God helps those who help themselves." The message and life of Jesus was completely opposite of that; he sought after the sick and the downtrodden and befriended the weak and poor. Find out this Sunday how the God of the helpless can transform us to respond the same way.

When Jesus touches our lives, we have to respond. When we follow Him we are going to care about the things he cares about and we are going to love the things that he loves. Apathy should not be an option for a Christian. This week we will see what it would look like if the CHURCH would unify itself behind stamping out the HIV/AIDS pandemic that plagues the world.

Perhaps the most famous prayer in the world contains
these familiar lines, "Your Kingdom come, Your will be
done, on earth as it is in heaven." But what does that
look like? How does that happen? It will not be easy.
It will require breaking through barriers of race,
gender, status, comfort, and culture to love as Jesus
loved. Yet, in our Savior's example we see how to do
justice, love mercy and walk humbly with our God. We
see a heavenly brand of Sacred Activism. Join us

We have all asked the question...what happens after life? This week we will take a look at this question from the perspective of the Gospel of John. The answer is sure to amaze and give you hope.

Transformation. It usually takes us a while to transform things. If we are going to remodel a house, it will take several weeks. If we are going to restore an antique car, it could take months or maybe even years. This week we will see that when Jesus transforms something, it happens in an instant and the transformation is long-lasting.

Not many things make us feel as helpless and frustrated as being totally lost. With no clue which direction to go, we often are paralyzed by fear or unanswered questions. A map is helpful, but a guide to show us the way is even better.
The complete life is not a list of rights and lefts. It is learning to love the guide. Come this Sunday to a Gallery Gathering for the continuation of The Complete Life series.

None of us like to be confused about an issue in our life or be "kept in the dark about it.� An idea, a clear thought, a solution is like a light bulb coming on.  Light shows things for what they really are.  When God came into the world as a man, He came like a light. He showed man both the darkness of our true condition and the eternal heights of possibility.  Join us this Sunday as we look at another aspect of The Complete Life.

Don't you just love it when you see an old couple walking hand in hand?  That is worth celebrating!  What are the characteristics of that type of life-long love?  Whether you are single or have been married for many years, it is never too late to begin practicing the Godly and loving treatment toward others that will lead toward a lifetime of commitment to one person.
